High Voltage Distance Learning
MTCS Ltd offers a High Voltage Safe Working Practice course, designed around ROV systems but equally applicable to any high voltage work site. Designed to meet the requirements of IMCA (R005), it provides a basic grounding in safety theory, the specific dangers of working with ROV High Voltage systems, an overview of first aid procedures and the relevant legislation.
The course focuses on the isolation of High Voltage equipment which is an essential requirement prior to maintenance work being carried out.
Who will benefit
All personnel who are involved in the maintenance and operation of High Voltage ROV systems (excess of 1kV AC or DC).
The course assists companies in meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, whereby they must provide sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision as are necessary to ensure employees responsibilities are properly discharged.
The course content includes:
- A brief overview of Legislation and Responsibilities
- Safety Systems
- Overview of Company Permit to Work Systems
- ROV System Components
- Systems of Work and Isolation Procedures for Company ROV Systems
- High Voltage Test Equipment
- Overview of Hazardous Areas
Assessment of knowledge is conducted as part of the course and candidates are required to submit their exam answers electronically. Successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Safe Working Practice.
To gain certification of competence for High Voltage Isolation’s, a separate practical assessment must be carried out.
